The Chinese Embassy in Suva has provided a $40,000 grant to support Inspire Pacific, a non-governmental organization dedicated to transforming the lives of at-risk children and fostering community growth in Fiji.
His Excellency Zhou Jian, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Fiji, presented the grant cheque to Ben Morrison, Co-Founder of Inspire Pacific, to support the organization’s efforts in empowering young lives through programs like the TAGANE MAI Rehabilitation & Integration Program.
In his address, Ambassador Jian remarked, “In recent years, the Ministry of Women, Children and Social Protection, under the Coalition Government’s leadership, has made significant contributions in women’s rights, child care and protection, and improving the lives of the vulnerable.”
“The Embassy is honored to assist the Ministry with its Child Rehabilitation and Wellbeing program and to advance the livelihoods of Fiji’s citizens.”
Minister for Women, Children and Social Protection, Lynda Tabuya, who hosted the event, expressed deep gratitude to the Chinese Ambassador for their generosity and commitment to positively impacting the lives of young individuals in need.
She further noted that this donation will be crucial in providing resources and support for the rehabilitation programs implemented by Inspire Pacific for at-risk young children.
Tabuya also praised Inspire Pacific for their dedication to creating a safe and nurturing environment for Fiji’s young children needing rehabilitation and integration support.
Inspire Pacific’s initiatives closely align with the Ministry’s mission to establish a Child Rehabilitation and Well-being Centre, offering care and protection to at-risk children, juveniles, and young street dwellers affected by drug abuse and crime.
This grant will aid Inspire Pacific in providing crucial support for at-risk youth, guiding them through rehabilitation, personal development, and successful reintegration into society.
The organization’s holistic approach combines practical training, emotional support, and community engagement to help individuals overcome obstacles and build brighter futures.
