Chinese Embassy Grants $40,000 to NGO for Youth Rehabilitation

The Chinese Embassy in Suva has provided a $40,000 grant to support Inspire Pacific, an NGO dedicated to transforming the lives of at-risk children and fostering community growth in Fiji.

His Excellency, Zhou Jian, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Fiji, presented the grant cheque to Ben Morrison, Co-Founder of Inspire Pacific, to assist the organization in their efforts to empower young lives through programs such as the TAGANE MAI Rehabilitation & Integration Program.

In his address, Ambassador Jian stated, “In recent years, the Ministry of Women, Children and Social Protection, under the leadership of the Coalition Government, has made significant contributions in the area of women’s rights, the care and protection of children, and improving the livelihoods of the vulnerable.”

“The Embassy is glad and honored to help the Ministry with its Child Rehabilitation and Wellbeing program and to advance the livelihoods of Fiji’s citizens.”

Lynda Tabuya, Minister for Women, Children, and Social Protection, who hosted the event, expressed her deepest gratitude to the Chinese Ambassador for their generosity and commitment to positively impacting the lives of young individuals in need.

She further stated that this donation will undoubtedly make a significant difference in providing resources and support for the rehabilitation programs implemented by Inspire Pacific for young children at risk.

Tabuya also commended Inspire Pacific for their dedication to creating a safe and nurturing environment for Fiji’s young children in need of rehabilitation and integration support.

Inspire Pacific’s initiatives closely align with the Ministry’s mission to establish a Child Rehabilitation and Well-being Centre, providing care and protection to at-risk children, juveniles, and young street dwellers whose lives have been impacted by drug abuse and crime.

This grant will support Inspire Pacific in providing crucial support for at-risk youth, guiding them through a structured journey of rehabilitation, personal development, and successful reintegration into society.

The organization’s holistic approach combines practical training, emotional support, and community engagement to help individuals overcome obstacles and build brighter futures.
