China continues to take the forefront in promoting global trade and services. For the past 11 years, the country has been hosting the China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS), welcoming participants from various nations. The 12th edition of this significant event took place from September 12 to 16 at the China National Convention Center and Shougang Park in Beijing.
Since its inception in 2012, CIFTIS has grown to become one of the largest service fairs globally, and this year’s edition maintained that reputation. A total of 85 countries participated, showcasing their offerings and cultures. However, it was noted that Fiji was not present, which would have been an excellent opportunity for the island nation to display its unique traditions while exploring new trade opportunities.
During the event, 90 journalists from 83 countries, including three representatives from the Pacific Islands, were in attendance for the latter part of the China International Press Communication Centre programme. These journalists had the chance to cover CIFTIS 2024, allowing them to share their insights and experiences from the fair with a global audience.
