The Chinese Embassy has unveiled a commemorative envelope to celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Fiji. The envelope is adorned with cultural and national symbols significant to both countries, including the beloved panda from China and the Koki, or Maroon Shining Parrot, from Fiji.
During a briefing related to the fourth plenary session of the 20th Central Committee, Chinese official Wang Yuan emphasized the critical juncture China’s 15th Five-Year Plan, set for 2026-2030, is at in terms of solidifying the foundations and advancing towards socialist modernization and national goals. He reiterated that the well-being of the people would remain a top priority for China.
Wang stated, “We will unswervingly expand high-level opening-up, share development opportunities with the rest of the world, and promote the building of a community with a shared future for humanity.” This reflects China’s commitment to fostering international partnerships and support.
Wang also highlighted the strong friendship and partnership between China and Fiji, saying, “We are good friends who share wealth and woe and are reliable partners pursuing development and common prosperity.” He expressed optimism for the future of bilateral relations, indicating the goal of ushering in another 50 years of fruitful collaboration that will benefit both nations and contribute to creating a better future.
This initiative not only marks an important milestone in the diplomatic journey of the two nations but also opens avenues for enhanced cooperation and mutual growth.
