Jai Narayan College and Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Primary School emerged victorious at the 2024 Vodafone Fiji National Schools Chess Championship.
Under the leadership of Women’s Candidate Master Tanvi Prasad, Jai Narayan College clinched the secondary school title, accumulating a total of 14 points.
Meanwhile, MGM secured the primary school division with 10 points.
Goru Arvind, the General Secretary of the Fiji Chess Federation, expressed appreciation to Vodafone Fiji for reinstating the championship following a five-year break.
Marist Brothers High School took second place in the secondary school division with 11 points, while Deenbandhoo Memorial School finished second in the primary school division with 5 points.
The competition saw participation from 12 school teams in total.
