Clothes for Good has made a generous contribution of $5,000 to the Nasole Housing Assistance Relief Trust (HART) Community on Wednesday, underlining their commitment to social responsibility.
As the first non-profit preloved clothing store in Fiji, with locations in Nabua and Lami near Suva, Clothes for Good operates with a mission of supporting local communities. The profits generated from their sales are funneled back into Fijian charities, directly aiding those in need.
Founder Hayden Ostrom emphasized the organization’s commitment to uplifting struggling communities. He stated, “Our business is centered around charity, helping the communities like Nasole HART grow and raise their standard of living.” He noted that every purchase made at their stores contributes to a larger effort of societal improvement.
The recent donation will primarily address safety concerns within the community, particularly by funding the repair of fences to prevent break-ins. Ostrom highlighted the importance of safety, stating, “Everyone deserves to feel safe in their home, especially when such community is home to those who have suffered a form of violence.” Additionally, a portion of the funds will be allocated to refurbishing the community hall, which is vital for children’s educational activities.
This initiative reflects a positive and proactive approach to community support, showing how businesses can play a critical role in enhancing the lives of local residents. The actions of Clothes for Good not only provide immediate assistance but also foster long-term improvements, bringing hope and safety to those they serve.
