Fiji’s heavyweight boxing champion, James Singh, has issued an apology for his actions during the recent title fight against Semi Dauloloma at the Bluewater Boxing Promotion event in Sigatoka last Saturday.

Spectators at Lawaqa Park witnessed a tumultuous second round that spiraled into chaos when both fighters ended up on the canvas. While down, Singh struck Dauloloma with three controversial punches to the back of his head, which led to an immediate halt in the match for a 10-minute medical assessment.

As Dauloloma was recuperating in his corner, he unexpectedly charged across the ring to confront Singh, throwing multiple punches at him. The bout was ultimately deemed a no contest by the chairman of the Boxing Commission of Fiji, Adi Narayan.

In a letter, Singh conveyed his sincere regret for his unprofessional behavior during the match, apologizing to the Boxing Commission of Fiji, Dauloloma’s camp, fans, and the broader boxing community.
