A new champion will emerge at the 2024 FMF Inter District Championship (IDC) in Lautoka this weekend, as defending titleholders Ba have been eliminated after a 1-1 draw against Rewa in their final group match. Coached by Timoci Seru, Ba had a disappointing tournament, securing only two points and scoring just one goal across three matches.
In the match, Ba needed a victory by at least two goals to advance. However, Rewa took an early lead with a free-kick from Patrick Joseph in the third minute, before Nabil Begg equalized for Ba with a penalty in the 11th minute.
As a result, Nadi will progress to the semifinals on Saturday. Rewa, sponsored by Extra Supermarket, advances as the winner of Group B and will participate in the second semifinal, while Mahijibhai Hardware/Calgary Nadi, finishing as the runner-up, will compete in the first semifinal.
