A new champion will be determined in the 2024 FMF Inter District Championship (IDC) in Lautoka this weekend, following the elimination of the reigning champions Ba after a 1-1 draw against Rewa in their final group match. Under the guidance of coach Timoci Seru, Ba had a lackluster tournament, managing only two points and scoring just one goal across three matches.
Ba needed to secure a victory by at least two goals to advance, but Rewa took an early lead with a free-kick from Patrick Joseph in the third minute. Nabil Begg equalized for Ba with a penalty in the 11th minute. This result allowed Nadi to advance to the semifinals on Saturday.
Rewa, sponsored by Extra Supermarket, secured their place in the semifinals as the winners of Group B and will compete in the second semifinal, while Mahijibhai Hardware/Calgary Nadi, finishing as the runner-up, will face off in the first semifinal.
