The UEFA has announced that the 2027 men’s Champions League final will not take place in Milan due to uncertainties around the future of the San Siro stadium. The governing body of European football stated that the Municipality of Milan could not assure the stadium and its vicinity would remain unaffected by refurbishment work during the time of the final. Consequently, UEFA has decided to reopen the bidding process to find a suitable location for the event, with a decision expected in May or June 2025. The final for 2026 is set to occur in Budapest, with both Budapest and Milan being the only candidates considered for the 2026 and 2027 finals.
