Champions Crowned: Suva Zone Two Athletics Competition Highlights

Marist Brothers High School and Suva Grammar School emerged as champions of the Suva Zone Two athletics competition, which wrapped up yesterday at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva. The event showcased intense competition over two days, with Marist leading the boys’ division by securing an impressive 31 gold, 23 silver, and 20 bronze medals, totaling 74 medals.

Suva Grammar School finished as the runner-up in the boys’ category, earning 17 gold, 18 silver, and 14 bronze medals, while Jai Narayan College claimed third place with a modest haul of two gold, one silver, and six bronze medals. In the girls’ division, Suva Grammar distinguished itself, dominating with 29 gold, 17 silver, and 14 bronze medals, summing up to an overall total of 60 medals.

Notably, Saint Joseph’s Secondary School came in second in the girls’ category with 15 gold, 19 silver, and 16 bronze medals, while Nuku Secondary School secured third place with two gold, five silver, and two bronze medals.

Furthermore, the event marked the lighting of the official games torch for the 2025 Fiji Finals, signaling anticipation for the upcoming competitions.

The strong performances at this competition reflect the commitment and hard work of the participating schools and their athletes.
