Anare Tabakaucoro, the under-18 captain of Queen Victoria School, expressed great pride in his team’s triumph in the Super Deans Trophy final against Nasinu Secondary School. He credited their success to the hard work, unity, and determination displayed throughout the season.
In a decisive match held at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva on Saturday, the defending champions secured their title with a convincing 27-13 victory. Tabakaucoro remarked that the game was manageable for them, attributing their focus and confidence in God as key factors in their success.
He highlighted the importance of his coach’s message before the final, which emphasized enjoying the game without adding pressure. “It wasn’t a hard game for us because we have faith in the almighty God; we just came here to do our job and get the win,” Tabakaucoro stated.
Despite various challenges in their everyday lives, the players came together as a cohesive unit. He expressed pride in the team’s performance and their ability to support one another and play for their families.
As he prepares for his final year at the school, Tabakaucoro is now focusing on his upcoming exams with the intention to excel. He also extended his gratitude to the teachers, parents, fans, and supporters of Queen Victoria School for their steadfast support.
