Marica Waqaniburotu has a strong passion for serving others. The graduate of Fiji National University with a Bachelor of Science degree has been actively involved in hospital activities shortly after beginning her placement, just two days in. This experience is part of her academic program, providing her with valuable practical experience in the healthcare field.
Following her recent achievement, Waqaniburotu is determined to extend her commitment beyond her responsibilities at the hospital. She aims to highlight the beauty and potential of the Northern Division. “The Northern Division has so much to offer in terms of natural beauty and cultural heritage,” she emphasized.
One of her key objectives is to collaborate with local municipalities to discuss and develop strategies for enhancing opportunities in the North. She believes that establishing a new port would not only improve logistical connections but also draw more tourists to the region. This, she argues, could lead to increased job opportunities and a stronger local economy.
