Eight teams from the Central rally have earned their places in the 2024 Crest Fiji Secondary Schools Netball Finals, which are scheduled to occur from August 21 to 23 at the National Netball Centre in Laucala, Suva.
FSSNA president Navitalai Naivalu highlighted the competitive nature of the Central rally, where various schools from Suva compete for the opportunity to participate.
“The competition has showcased significant talent and emphasized the importance of teamwork, with teachers playing a vital role in preparing the teams,” Naivalu stated.
The teams that qualified for the national event include Dudley High School, Mahatma Gandi Memorial School, William Cross College, Ballantine Memorial School, Saint Joseph Secondary School, and Yat Sen College.
In a surprising turn of events, defending champions Suva Grammar managed to secure a spot only in the U19 grade, while Dudley High School made history by qualifying in every grade for the first time.
“As the competition intensifies, it promises to be an exciting event with new champions expected to emerge,” Naivalu added.
Supporters are encouraged to back their teams and to show appreciation for the teachers and parents who have played a crucial role in the players’ development in netball.
