Eight teams from the Central rally have qualified for the 2024 Crest Fiji Secondary Schools Netball Finals, which will be held from August 21-23 at the National Netball Centre in Laucala, Suva.
FSSNA president Navitalai Naivalu highlighted that the Central rally is characterized by intense competition, with schools from the Suva area competing for a chance to participate.
Naivalu noted, “The competition displayed significant talent and underscored the importance of teamwork, with teachers playing a vital role in preparing the teams.”
The teams that have secured their spots in the nationals include Dudley High School, Mahatma Gandhi Memorial School, William Cross College, Ballantine Memorial School, Saint Joseph Secondary School, and Yat Sen College.
Interestingly, defending champions Suva Grammar only qualified for the U19 grade, while Dudley High School made history by qualifying in all grades for the first time.
“As the competition intensifies, we can expect an exciting event with the possibility of new champions emerging,” Naivalu added.
Fans are encouraged to support the teams and show appreciation for the teachers and parents who have significantly contributed to the players’ development in netball.
