Celebrating Unsung Heroes: Humanitarians Honored in Fiji

Rural and Maritime Development Minister Sakiasi Ditoka praised the efforts of all humanitarian actors during the World Humanitarian Day celebration held in Suva on Friday. He highlighted their continuous commitment to serving humanity and noted the significance of the occasion, which also featured the Climate Resilience Awards night and the Sautu Women in Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) event.

Mr. Ditoka emphasized the remarkable nature of humanitarian work while reaffirming the government’s dedication to promoting inclusivity and safeguarding the lives of humanitarian workers. He stated, “This award is more than a mere recognition; it is our sincere token of appreciation for the unwavering dedication and sacrifices you have made in the face of adversity.”

He further expressed that honoring the strength and contributions of women leaders during this humanitarian week is of utmost importance, highlighting their essential roles in the field.
