Many people celebrated Prophet Muhammad’s birthday on a day marked by various activities and worship at homes and mosques, while others took advantage of the public holiday to enjoy picnics across the country. The sunny and breezy weather made it an ideal choice for family outings.
Among those enjoying the day were members of the Kalabu Jyoti Assemblies of God church. They began the day with a service followed by team bonding activities, including a potluck lunch. Arveena Kumar, the wife of the church’s senior pastor Suresh Kumar, expressed satisfaction with the turnout and the engaging activities, saying, “We are here for team bonding and basically a family get together.” The activities included lunch, games such as spoon races and apple-eating contests, touch rugby, and concluded with swimming.
At Suva Point in Laucala Bay, the Hedstrom family from Nakasi, Nasinu, was also enjoying a picnic. According to dad Kibae, it was a perfect break from school and work. Fifteen-year-old Caleb Ueanimaraki stated that the trip was relaxing, noting, “I came with my uncle and his family, and the trip was relaxing before we get back to school.”
