Spread the love

Many people celebrated the birthday of Prophet Muhammad yesterday with various activities and worship at home and in mosques, while others took advantage of the public holiday for picnics across the country. The sunny and breezy weather provided an ideal setting for family outings.

Among the picnickers were members of the Kalabu Jyoti Assemblies of God church. They began the day with a service and then enjoyed team bonding activities, including a potluck lunch. Arveena Kumar, the wife of Senior Pastor Suresh Kumar, expressed her satisfaction with the turnout and engagement, saying, “We are here for team bonding and basically a family get together.” The group had a delightful lunch followed by games such as spoon races, apple and bun eating, duck and wheelbarrow races, touch rugby, and finished with swimming.

At Suva Point in Laucala Bay, the Hedstrom family from Nakasi, Nasinu, also made the most of the day. According to father Kibae, the picnic served as a perfect break from school and work. Fifteen-year-old Caleb Ueanimaraki noted that the outing was relaxing. “I came with my uncle and his family, and the trip was relaxing before we get back to school,” he stated.

Families enjoyed the beautiful weather and each other’s company as they took part in these cherished holiday traditions.
