This Easter weekend is now a cherished memory for the Goundar family of Solovi, Nadi, who are double celebrating the significant achievement of their son, Kartik Krishal Goundar. Kartik graduated last Friday with a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of the South Pacific. This academic milestone brings joy and pride not only to him but also to his parents, Myhendra and Mohini Goundar, and his grandmother, Sharda Goundar.
His mother, Mohini, who manages operations and finance at a leading company in Lautoka, expressed the fulfillment of years of hard work and sacrifices made for Kartik’s education. “We were very proud. We were emotional knowing that the difficulties we endured over the years had paid off,” she said while recalling the tears of joy shed as they watched Kartik accept his diploma. The family attributes Kartik’s success to their combined efforts and the support they received from their extended family and the staff at Islands Electric.
The Goundars, with lineage tracing back to the late Chin Sami Goundar, Tada Goundar, and Sharda Goundar from Nadrala, Sigatoka, moved to Nadi in hopes of providing their son better educational opportunities. Mohini expressed her gratitude to all who have supported them, mentioning that Kartik has become like a son to the company staff, further reinforcing the family’s strong community ties.
This heartwarming celebration echoes a common thread seen in many recent graduation stories, where the dedication and sacrifices of families culminate in the success of their children. Like Kartik, other graduates have also shared their journeys, highlighting the importance of resilience, family support, and strong educational foundations in achieving dreams, even amidst challenges posed by circumstances such as the COVID pandemic.
Moments like these are a reminder of hope and determination, showcasing how hard work, family values, and community support can lead to inspiring achievements and brighter futures.
