The Pacific Specialist Healthcare (PSH) Hospital in Nadi recently marked its first anniversary of successful operations with a celebration involving its management and staff. Opened by Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka on July 4 of last year, the milestone was celebrated during the festive season due to the hospital’s busy clinical commitments in July.

Operations Manager Ritesh Kumar expressed pride in the hospital’s accomplishments over the past year, highlighting their innovative medical offerings, including the successful execution of complex procedures such as open-heart surgeries. Mr. Kumar noted, “It has been a wonderful one-year journey so far… We look forward to a successful new year.”

Chief Executive Officer Parvish Kumar reflected on the challenges faced during the initial year but emphasized the exciting future ahead for the hospital. He proudly mentioned a significant milestone: the successful open-heart surgery performed on 61-year-old Kusum Lata, a patient from Lautoka. The intricate procedure, known as a Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG), was carried out by a skilled team of cardiology surgeons without complications.

Kumar pointed out that PSH’s journey included meticulous planning and investment in advanced medical technology to ensure high-quality patient care. He revealed plans to introduce a hyperbaric chamber and a special incentive program for Fiji’s sugarcane farmers in the coming week. Additionally, a new five-story building, which will house a state-of-the-art MRI machine and a medical drug manufacturing plant, is expected to be completed in two months.
