Fiji’s prominent investment firm, Fijian Holdings Limited (FHL), celebrated its 40th anniversary with a grand event held at the RB Convention Centre in Lami on Thursday. This significant milestone highlights four decades of FHL’s contribution to fostering greater iTaukei participation in the corporate landscape.

The celebration followed the Group’s Annual General Meeting for 2024, providing an opportunity for reflection and gratitude towards the key figures responsible for the establishment of FHL, including the Great Council of Chiefs and prominent leaders such as the late Ratu Sir Kamisese Mara and former managing director, the late Laisenia Qarase.

Group CEO Jaoji Koroi emphasized the group’s substantial achievements during the 2024 financial year, noting that total assets have surpassed $700 million, with net assets valued at $323 million and profits reaching an impressive $70 million. To date, FHL has distributed over $130 million in dividends to its shareholders.

Koroi recognized that long-standing shareholders have garnered significant rewards from their investments, but he also pointed out the firm’s commitment to expanding its focus beyond its current shareholders. He stressed the importance of empowering iTaukei resource owners through newly announced initiatives.

The company’s 40-year journey has not only brought financial growth but also a commitment to community upliftment and corporate inclusivity. This dedication to empowering local resource owners is a hopeful step towards broader economic participation and reflects a bright future for both FHL and the communities it serves.

In summary, FHL’s anniversary event underscores the company’s significant achievements and its promise to continue creating opportunities for the iTaukei people while acknowledging its rich history and dedicated shareholders.
