ZENS Medical Centre Pte Ltd celebrated its 25th anniversary on December 21, 2024, at the Sheraton Fiji Golf and Beach Resort in Denarau, marking a significant milestone in its journey from a humble solo practitioner operation to a multi-faceted healthcare provider. Founded by Dr. Zen Low in the early 2000s, ZENS has grown from a small office to eight centers across Fiji, including Nadi, Namaka, Denarau, Lautoka, and even expanding to Apia, Samoa.
Over the years, ZENS Medical Centre has made notable advancements in healthcare technology, commissioning the first digital X-ray system in the South Pacific in 2011, which revolutionized the diagnostic capabilities of the center. Following this, they also introduced various services, including pathology and ambulance services, thereby enhancing community healthcare access and creating numerous job opportunities.
The COVID-19 pandemic posed significant challenges for the medical facility, compelling it to adapt quickly to the influx of cases and adjustments in operations. Despite these hurdles, ZENS expanded its footprint, establishing nursing stations at local resorts and increasing its geographical reach.
ZENS Medical Centre’s commitment to excellence was recognized at the Fiji Business Excellence Awards, where it was awarded recognition for its quality and safety standards. The establishment of an HR department in 2022 has further strengthened operational protocols, moving the center towards a comprehensive strategic business plan focused on quality improvement.
With a current workforce of 173 employees, including 30 doctors, ZENS is poised for continuous growth and expansion in the healthcare sector. It is dedicated to maintaining high standards of care through various initiatives that promote health accessibility and community support.
CEO Ravitesh Singh emphasized the center’s core values of quality, respect, compassion, collaboration, and foresight, asserting that their journey towards healthcare excellence is enriched by community involvement. As highlighted during the anniversary celebration, the company’s mission is centered around enhancing health services while maintaining a commitment to social responsibility through initiatives like health promotion roadshows and free registration schemes for underserved communities.
