Former students of St Anne’s Primary School held a march in Suva yesterday morning to celebrate the school’s 120th anniversary. The alumni arranged a week-long series of events to honor the school’s legacy, which featured performances by current students, a formal ball, and a church service scheduled for today.
Head teacher Miliana Caginavanua expressed that the event brought together alumni, students, and parents, creating a strong sense of unity and sisterhood. She expressed gratitude to the former scholars for their involvement, noting their commitment to provide ongoing support through their expertise in various areas, including financial aid, administrative assistance, and volunteering their time and skills.
Alumni from different decades have donated resources to the school, such as two laptops for teachers, curtains for the library, solar lights, and books. Caginavanua mentioned that the preparations for the anniversary celebrations were incorporated into the school curriculum, ensuring all educational requirements were met before the events.
She emphasized that the support and engagement from the community have played a vital role in the success of the celebrations and will be essential for future school initiatives.
