Capital Insurance, an insurer in the Pacific region, has joined as a sponsor for the upcoming Business Assistance Fiji (BAF) micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSME) conference scheduled for June 26-27 at the Sheraton Fiji Golf and Beach Resort in Nadi. This sponsorship marks the insurance company’s inaugural participation in this event.
During the conference launch at the Southern Cross Hotel, Capital Insurance CEO David Ariff Chan expressed pride in supporting an event he described as meaningful. “Last year’s conference was amazing, highlighting the importance of the contributions made to MSME development,” he noted. “When the opportunity to sponsor this year’s event arose, we were delighted to step in and support it.”
Capital Insurance aims to fulfill its responsibility towards community growth, particularly the development of MSMEs in Fiji. With a diverse range of insurance products, including medical, home, car, business, and marine insurance, the company is well-positioned to aid business owners in navigating risks associated with entrepreneurship.
Mr. Chan also highlighted the company’s commitment to community initiatives, including support for women empowerment, individuals with disabilities, youth programs, grassroots rugby, and environmental sustainability. This approach reflects Capital Insurance’s dedication to fostering not only economic stability but also social welfare within Fiji.
The BAF MSME conference is expected to attract around 300 participants, including MSMEs, government stakeholders, financial institutions, and development partners, with an emphasis on exploring collaborative opportunities for sustainability and growth.
This conference and the sponsorship by Capital Insurance signal a collaborative effort to address challenges faced by MSMEs while uplifting the entrepreneurial spirit in Fiji. The dedication of local businesses and institutions to empower MSMEs offers hope for a resilient economic future, contributing significantly to the national employment landscape.
