Caleb Muntz, the pivot for the Flying Fijians and Swire Shipping Fijian Drua, is gearing up for the upcoming Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific season fully fit and eager to take charge of the team’s offensive play. After a challenging previous season where he managed to play only three games due to injuries, the 25-year-old is optimistic about starting the season strong.

Muntz emphasized the importance of entering the season without injuries, saying, “The big thing for me is being injury-free. I have just been making sure the rehabs are done and getting the repairs in because it was a long season.” This commitment to his physical readiness reflects a renewed determination to contribute significantly to the Drua.

The new season brings additional challenges, with a revamped format that allows only six teams to advance to the elimination rounds, making the competition stiffer. Muntz acknowledged that, with the Rebels no longer in the competition, Australian teams have strengthened, leading to tougher matches ahead. “Every game is going to be really tough, tougher than last year,” he noted, highlighting the increased stakes of this season.

As the Drua prepares for their season opener against the Brumbies in Suva this weekend, Muntz remains hopeful for a starting position, looking to lead his team with both skill and resilience. His readiness and enthusiasm could be crucial in navigating the demanding schedule ahead and propelling the Drua toward success.

This story not only marks a personal comeback for Muntz but also highlights the evolving landscape of the Super Rugby competition, igniting excitement among fans for the challenges and triumphs that lie ahead.
