Founded in 1904 by Fredrick Caines, the company began as a humble photographic studio after he acquired the Le Faivre Photographic Studio. Under his leadership, Caines Studios flourished, particularly after welcoming key figures like N A Khan and Hannif Akbar into the fold. The partnership evolved, marking significant changes—Mr. Caines stepped back in 1935 due to health issues, passing the torch to Mrs. Caine, Mr. Akbar, and Ben Jannif. Despite facing several business challenges, the introduction of Amina Jannif further revitalized the company’s direction.
During the anniversary celebration, director Sofia Jannif reflected on the resilience of Caines Jannif, contrasting the joy of the evening with the sorrow felt six years prior due to a devastating fire at their Raiwai Factory. Long-serving employee Kelsey Jannif reminisced about the organization’s evolution through the transition from film to digital, highlighting how Caines Jannif had adapted to changes in technology while maintaining a deep connection with its clients.
