The Prime Minister has announced a Cabinet reshuffle set to take effect on January 19, 2026, as the Coalition Government nears the completion of its third year in power. The reshuffling aims to realign ministerial responsibilities to enhance governance as the nation prepares for its fourth year under the current administration.

As part of the changes, Sakiasi Ditoka will assume the role of Minister for Foreign Affairs and External Trade. Mosese Bulitavu is appointed to oversee the portfolio of Rural and Maritime Development and Disaster Management. Lynda Tabuya will take charge as Minister for Information, Environment, and Climate Change, while Charan Jeath Singh becomes the Minister for Public Enterprises, Multi-Ethnic Affairs, Culture, Heritage, and Arts. Ifereimi Vasu has been designated Minister for iTaukei Affairs. Additionally, Tomasi Tunabuna will manage Agriculture and the Sugar Industry.

The Prime Minister will continue to oversee Civil Service and Strategic Planning, as well as National Development and Statistics. Sachida Nand has also been reassigned to the role of Assistant Minister for Commerce and Business Development.

Emphasizing the importance of these changes, the Prime Minister stated that they come at a pivotal time, reaffirming the government’s commitment to advancing the interests of the nation. This reshuffle reflects a proactive approach in addressing governance needs as the government continues its work in serving the people.
