Lynda Tabuya has officially returned to the Cabinet, taking on the role of Minister for Information. This appointment was announced today by Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka, who emphasized Tabuya’s expertise in handling public relations for the government. As part of a broader reshuffle, Tabuya will replace Rabuka, who had been managing this portfolio himself.
In addition to Tabuya’s appointment, Tomasi Tunabuna has been elevated to the position of Minister for Agriculture, succeeding Alitia Bainivalu, who had been acting in this role following the unfortunate passing of Vatimi Rayalu. Furthermore, Inosi Kuridrani will serve as the new Assistant Minister for Agriculture, supporting Tunabuna in his responsibilities.
These changes are set to be formalized in a swearing-in ceremony scheduled for tomorrow, August 5, 2025. Prime Minister Rabuka expressed confidence in the newly appointed ministers, stating that their leadership will invigorate key sectors of governance and improve communication between the government and the public.
This Cabinet reshuffle is seen as a strategic move to address ongoing challenges and enhance the effectiveness of government operations, particularly in the fields of information and agriculture. With fresh leadership in place, there is an optimistic outlook for positive developments that can better serve the needs of the citizens.
