The Cabinet has approved the Final Report of the National Security and Defence Review (NSDR). This review was spearheaded by Independent Review Lead James Sanday, with assistance from an Editorial Board comprising Professor Satish Chand, Assistant Professor Ana Rokomokoti, and Associate Professor Shailendra Singh.
The NSDR Report was crafted after thorough consultations with more than 50 stakeholders from the government, community, and civil society. The Review Team plans to unveil a public version of the Final Report and organize a public validation workshop by the end of October 2024.
An inter-agency taskforce, overseen by the Ministry of Home Affairs & Immigration, will begin formulating a National Security Strategy (NSS), aiming to finalize it by December 2024. This strategy will incorporate the insights and recommendations presented in the NSDR Final Report.
