The Cabinet has approved the Final Report of the National Security and Defence Review (NSDR). This review was spearheaded by Independent Review Lead James Sanday, supported by an Editorial Board comprised of Professor Satish Chand, Assistant Professor Ana Rokomokoti, and Associate Professor Shailendra Singh.
The NSDR Report was created after thorough consultations with over 50 stakeholders from the government, community, and civil society. A public version of the Final Report will be released, along with a public validation workshop, by the end of October 2024.
Additionally, an inter-agency taskforce, led by the Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration, will commence the drafting of a National Security Strategy (NSS), which is expected to be completed by December 2024. The NSS will incorporate the insights and recommendations outlined in the NSDR Final Report.
