Head coach Mick Byrne has expressed confidence in his team’s readiness for their match against Japan while acknowledging the challenges posed by the host side in the upcoming final.

“We know Japan will bring a lot of speed to their game, and we must establish ourselves early, particularly in defense,” Byrne stated.

The FIJI Water-sponsored team is set to face Japan in the final of the Asahi Super Dry Pacific Nations Cup at Hanazono Rugby Stadium in Higashiosaka on Saturday.

“We need to be sharp and get our set pieces organized effectively. It’s crucial that we tackle well. Everything else has been going well for us. We have to be strong in defense, make our tackles, and dominate the collision areas to slow the game down, as Japan prefers to play at a fast pace and excels at it.”

The final will begin at 10:05 PM.
