Police have successfully intercepted a significant quantity of marijuana during a routine roadblock in the Northern Division. According to Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations (ACP) Livai Driu, officers from the Tukavesi Police Station discovered the illicit substance within a black bag located in the luggage compartment of a bus at the Bagasau roadblock.
The undercover operation yielded further results when, during an additional snap check on Monday night, police seized several branches of dried leaves also believed to be marijuana at Sabeto Road. The two individuals traveling in the vehicle have been arrested in connection with these findings.
This proactive approach by law enforcement highlights their commitment to combating drug trafficking and ensuring the safety of the community. By intercepting these illegal substances, the police not only disrupt the supply chain of drug-related activities but also protect the youth and families from the potential harm associated with drug use.
Moving forward, it’s imperative for the community to remain vigilant and cooperate with law enforcement efforts aimed at eradicating drug-related crimes. Such collaborative efforts can foster a safer environment for all residents.
