Two men have been apprehended for their intimidating behavior towards a bus attendant at the Nadi Bus Station. According to Assistant Commissioner of Police – Operations, Livai Driu, the arrests took place this morning.
ACP Driu noted that these individuals have a history of causing disturbances that not only disrupt bus operations but also pose a threat to the safety and well-being of both drivers and passengers. Their actions have resulted in a tense atmosphere, which is concerning for everyone involved in public transport.
To address such disturbances, ACP Driu urged Public Service Vehicle (PSV) drivers and passengers to report any similar incidents to nearby police stations, community posts, or checkpoints. He emphasized the shared responsibility of the community in maintaining a safe environment, especially as the holiday season approaches.
Driu’s call to action encourages vigilance among the public, promoting a collective effort to ensure a peaceful and incident-free Christmas season.
This situation serves as a reminder of the importance of community cooperation in enhancing safety within public transport systems. With the right actions, the community can work together to foster a more secure and enjoyable atmosphere for all.
