Two men have been taken into custody at the Nadi Bus Station for allegedly intimidating a bus attendant. Assistant Commissioner of Police – Operations, Livai Driu, confirmed the arrests, noting that these individuals have a history of causing disturbances that affect the safety and well-being of bus drivers and passengers alike.
ACP Driu stated that such disruptive behavior not only compromises the safety of those onboard but also fosters an uncomfortable and stressful atmosphere for everyone involved. He emphasized the importance of reporting any similar incidents to nearby police stations, community posts, or checkpoints to ensure the safety of public service vehicle (PSV) drivers and their passengers.
To foster community safety and ensure a peaceful environment, especially as the festive season approaches, ACP Driu urged the public to look out for one another. This call for vigilance aims to promote a more secure and incident-free Christmas for all.
This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of maintaining a safe and respectful environment in public spaces. As the community comes together, small actions like reporting disturbances can contribute to the overall safety and enjoyment of the holiday season.
