Two men have been arrested at the Nadi Bus Station for allegedly intimidating a bus attendant. The apprehension, according to Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations Livai Driu, took place this morning.
ACP Driu noted that these individuals have a history of disrupting bus operations by harassing both drivers and passengers. Such behavior not only threatens the safety of those on board but also creates a tense and uncomfortable atmosphere for everyone involved.
The Police Operations Chief urged PSV (Public Service Vehicle) drivers who encounter similar issues to report them at their nearest Police Stations, Community Posts, or checkpoints along the route. He emphasized the importance of community vigilance, encouraging the public to look out for one another to ensure a safe and incident-free holiday season.
This incident highlights a proactive response from law enforcement, underscoring the commitment to maintaining safety and order in public transport. It is crucial that communities come together to support one another, especially during busy times like Christmas, to foster a secure environment for all.
By taking such measures, there is hope that public transportation can be a safe and pleasant experience, allowing everyone to enjoy the festive season.
