Two men have been taken into police custody after a viral video showed them intimidating a bus attendant at the Nadi Bus Station. The arrests were made earlier today, as confirmed by Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations, Livai Driu.
According to ACP Driu, the men were apprehended for causing a nuisance in a public place. He elaborated that these individuals have been known to regularly disrupt bus journeys by harassing both drivers and passengers, leading to an unsafe environment for all involved.
ACP Driu emphasized the importance of reporting such behavior, encouraging Public Service Vehicle (PSV) drivers to stop at nearby police stations, community posts, and checkpoints if they encounter similar issues.
This incident serves as a reminder of the critical need for maintaining safety and respect in public spaces, and the proactive response by law enforcement highlights their commitment to upholding order in the community.
As public awareness increases due to such incidents being captured and shared online, it is hoped that more individuals will feel empowered to report harassment and work together toward creating a safer environment for everyone.
