Bus Driver’s Fate Hangs in the Balance: Key Hearing Set for Next Year

A hearing for a 21-year-old bus driver, Ronal Vikash Nair, accused of causing the death of a 23-year-old woman in an accident last year, is scheduled to begin on September 1 and 2 of next year. Nair appeared before Suva Magistrate Jeremaia Savou on a charge of dangerous driving resulting in death.

During a recent court hearing, the police prosecution indicated that there will be 12 witnesses called to testify. There were also admissions made during a caution interview, according to the prosecution. The defense lawyer’s request for another mention date to prepare for the pretrial conference was approved by the court.
