Two men have been arrested at the Nadi Bus Station for intimidating a bus attendant, a situation that recently gained attention on social media. Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations Livai Driu confirmed that the two individuals were taken into custody this morning for causing a public disturbance.
According to ACP Driu, these men are known for creating disruptions during bus journeys, which include harassing both drivers and passengers. He emphasized that such behavior not only endangers the safety of those on board but also fosters an uncomfortable atmosphere for everyone involved in the commute.
To address similar situations, ACP Driu encourages Public Service Vehicle (PSV) drivers to report disturbances at nearby police stations, community posts, or checkpoints when they arise. He called for community vigilance to ensure a safe and incident-free holiday season.
As the community prepares for the festive period, this incident highlights the importance of safety in public transport and the collaborative effort needed to maintain a secure environment for all. This proactive approach not only fosters a better travel experience but also strengthens community ties, reminding us that looking out for one another can lead to safer public spaces.
