A 29-year-old man has been apprehended and is under investigation regarding a series of six burglary incidents that took place in the Lajonia, Tuatua, and Avua regions of the Northern Division. These offenses allegedly occurred throughout June 2025, with various items stolen from victims’ homes between June 4 and June 27.
The suspect, who is a resident of Lajonia, is currently being interrogated at the Labasa Police Station as detectives continue to gather evidence and investigate the circumstances surrounding these crimes. This incident underscores a growing concern about property safety in the community, similar to previous burglary cases that have prompted ongoing police efforts across the region.
In another recent case earlier this year, authorities successfully charged a 34-year-old man for a burglary incident on Bau Street in Suva, highlighting the importance of effective law enforcement. This earlier investigation involved collaborative efforts from the Criminal Investigations Department and other units, leading to a positive outcome with stolen items being recovered.
This latest arrest reflects a commitment to enhancing community safety and securing justice for victims of property crimes. As ongoing investigations progress, there is hope that this case, like others before it, may strengthen law enforcement strategies, deter criminal behavior, and foster a greater sense of security among residents.
