Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations, ACP Livai Driu, has urged property owners to enhance their security measures following a reported burglary at an estate in Taveuni last week. Mr. Driu noted that K9 officers were promptly deployed after the Taveuni Police Station received a call about the break-in. Upon arriving at the location, the K9 team successfully tracked down a suspect, leading to an arrest and the recovery of suspected stolen items. The suspect is currently in custody as the investigation continues. Mr. Driu highlighted that some incidents showed no signs of forced entry, indicating that doors may have been left unlocked. He emphasized the importance of not overlooking home security, which can contribute to burglary incidents.
