Authorities have confirmed the finding of bullets on a Fiji Airways plane that arrived from Tonga yesterday morning. It is suspected that the ammunition was left in the carry-on baggage of a passenger who disembarked the aircraft. Investigations are underway to determine how security procedures at Tongatapu Fua’amotu International Airport failed to uncover the bullets in the passenger’s bag. Police spokeswoman Ana Naisoro stated that inquiries are ongoing. According to international regulations, carrying any form of ammunition in a passenger aircraft’s carry-on luggage is strictly forbidden.
