Bulldogs Welcome Back Montoya as Titans Gear Up for RCG’s Arrival

Former Fiji Bati international Marcelo Montoya is set to return to the Canterbury Bulldogs after signing a two-year contract. The 28-year-old will be rejoining his junior club after spending four seasons with the New Zealand Warriors, where he achieved a total of 30 tries in 82 appearances.

Montoya began his rugby league journey with the Bulldogs, participating in the Harold Matthews Cup and the National Youth Competition before making his NRL debut in 2017. Bulldogs General Manager of Football, Phil Gould, expressed excitement about Montoya’s return, stating, “It’s always pleasing to bring a local junior back home.” He added that Montoya’s passion, versatility in the backline, and experience would significantly benefit the team as he embarks on this new chapter.

In another development, the Gold Coast Titans have announced the signing of experienced prop Reagan Campbell-Gillard, also a former Fiji Bati player. Campbell-Gillard will join the Titans in 2025 on a three-year deal. At 31 years old, he brings a wealth of experience with 221 NRL games played for the Penrith Panthers and Parramatta Eels, in addition to representing the Blues and Kangaroos at the Origin and international levels. Titans coach Des Hasler expressed enthusiasm over the signing, praising Campbell-Gillard as a hardworking front rower and a consistent presence in the NRL for the past decade.
