Bula Football Club (FC) is set to hold its inaugural open training session at 4R Stadium, Govind Park in Ba on Wednesday, ramping up its preparations for the forthcoming Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) Professional League. With only 13 days left until the league’s debut, the club is inviting fans to get an exclusive glimpse of a professional football training setting.
Anushil Kumar, acting chief executive officer, emphasized the initiative’s goal of fostering a closer bond between the team and its supporters as Bula FC embarks on this new journey. “While fans have observed local clubs and districts during training, this will be their first experience witnessing a professional club’s training,” Kumar noted.
The session is designed to provide supporters with a window into the team’s preparations, as well as a chance for personal interactions with players and club officials. The last 30 minutes will be dedicated to a meet-and-greet, allowing fans to engage directly with their favorite players.
The open training session will kick off at 8:30 am on Wednesday, with opportunities for fans to observe the full 90-minute practice. To enhance the experience, Kumar mentioned that the usual training format will be adapted to include entertaining activities for attendees. Following the training, fans can meet players and officials from 10 am to 10:30 am, further nurturing the growing connection between the team and its fanbase.
As the opening match approaches, Bula FC plans to streamline its training schedule. Starting tomorrow, the team will transition to one training session per day, down from the two daily sessions that have been typical during their intense preparation phase. Bula FC will face Vanuatu United in their opening match on January 17, with the event taking place at Eden Park in Auckland, New Zealand.
This open training session not only highlights Bula FC’s commitment to its supporters but also marks an exciting milestone in the club’s history as it prepares for its first professional league.
