Bula FC has boosted its roster in preparation for the new season by signing England-based defender Scott Wara, marking him as the club’s 17th addition. Wara, known for his versatility and robust defensive skills, brings a wealth of experience and international exposure to the team.
A product of the Stoke City Academy, Wara began his football journey at just 10 years old participating in local Sunday league competitions before moving through the U18 and U21 ranks at Stoke. His upbringing in Stoke, a city known for its working-class roots, has played a crucial role in shaping his character and ambitions, with the thrill of Premier League matchdays igniting his passion to reach the highest levels of the game.
Following his departure from Stoke City, Wara has built a commendable professional career across England and Ireland. He has played for clubs including Leek Town FC, Finn Harps FC, Stalybridge Celtic FC, Prescot Cables FC, and most recently, Stafford Rangers FC, where he established himself as a regular starter.
Among Wara’s career milestones are reaching the FA Youth Cup semi-finals with Stoke City’s U18 side, contributing to playoff runs with Leek Town, and making history by becoming the first Fijian to compete in the League of Ireland with Finn Harps. On the international front, Wara made his senior debut for the Fiji Men’s National Team at the young age of 17, played for the Fiji U23 team at 19, and later participated in World Cup qualifier semi-finals for the senior team.
In reflecting on his recent move, Wara expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “It’s a moment in history for me to sign a professional contract here in Fiji. It’s a personal achievement because I’ve been waiting for the opportunity to return to professional football and contribute at this level.”
Bula FC has warmly welcomed Wara to their ranks, with confidence that his experience and leadership will be invaluable as the team gears up for the challenges of the upcoming season. With the addition of Wara, the club looks to enhance its competitive edge and foster a strong team spirit.
