Akuila Mateisuva, the goalkeeper for Suva, has been appointed to captain the Digicel Bula Boys in the upcoming Tri-Nations series against the Solomon Islands and Hong Kong-China, taking place in Suva and Lautoka.
Mateisuva expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to lead the team and shared his excitement about returning to the national squad after previously missing matches due to work obligations. He anticipates two challenging games and has urged local supporters to rally behind the team.
“The team has prepared well, but we need all our supporters at the stadium to back us. Be our 12th man as we aim to give our best for Fiji in these two matches,” he stated.
Fiji will play against the Solomon Islands tonight at 7 PM at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva and will face Hong Kong-China on Sunday, September 8, at 3 PM at Churchill Park in Lautoka.
