Mosese Nabose from Rewa and Aporosa Yada from Lautoka will not be participating in the Fiji national football team’s Bula Boys squad for the crucial semifinal match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers against New Zealand. According to reliable sources, both players failed to clear the required medical tests necessary for selection.

Fiji Football Association’s chief executive, Mohammad Yusuf, stated that the players will follow the established disciplinary procedure following their exclusion. This development is a setback for the team as they prepare for an important match scheduled on March 21 in Wellington.

Despite these absences, the Bula Boys will consist of 14 local players, with six players set to join the team directly in New Zealand, while eight others undergo trials to potentially bolster the squad. This approach highlights the team’s dedication to assembling a competitive unit, mixing both established and emerging talents to face their formidable opponent.

Leading up to the match, the players’ morale remains optimistic, as they focus on unity and preparation to maximize their performance. The combination of local talent and those undergoing trials reflects a strategic effort by the Bula Boys to enhance their chances in this vital qualifier.

In light of the recent challenges, fans can remain hopeful that Fiji will leverage their depth and resilience to make a powerful statement on the field during this significant match. The determination to qualify gives the team and supporters a shared goal to rally behind as they aim to make an impact in Oceania football.
