Police Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu embarked on a tour of the Eastern and Western Divisions this past weekend, aiming to strengthen the morale of officers serving in rural and remote areas. During his visit, he expressed his profound gratitude for their dedication and loyalty, acknowledging the challenging circumstances under which they operate.

Tudravu underscored the fundamental responsibility of police officers to prioritize their duties, often putting aside personal challenges and comforts. In light of significant occasions, including Father’s Sunday for Methodist Church members, International Women’s Day, and Ramadan, he recognized the sacrifices made by officers who continue to serve the community during these special times.

Highlighting the importance of religious freedom, the Commissioner noted that the values of kindness and gratitude reflected within the police force resonate with both Methodist and Muslim principles. To conclude his visit, Tudravu attended a Father’s Day service at the Navosa Methodist Church, where he engaged with officers from the Navosa Police Station.

This tour aligns with Tudravu’s commitment to fostering unity and support within the police force, reflecting sentiments he expressed upon his earlier appointment. Building on his extensive experience in policing, his leadership aims for a sense of shared purpose and revitalized community trust in law enforcement.

The groundwork being laid by Commissioner Tudravu points to a hopeful future for the Fiji Police Force, as he seeks to restore public confidence and emphasize the critical role of officers in maintaining safety and order within their communities. By nurturing a culture of integrity and commitment, Tudravu’s leadership is positioned to inspire both officers and citizens toward a more united and supportive policing environment.
