Budget Shakeup: Fiji’s Cabinet Approves Major Fund Redeployment

The Cabinet has sanctioned the second redeployment of funds from the 2023-2024 Budget to address the over-expenditure faced by the Ministry of Education and the Fiji Police Force. A sum of FJ$7,936,665.94 (VIP) will be redirected to regularize the financial excesses incurred by these two agencies. This follows the first redeployment approved in July, which allocated an additional FJ$105,185,000.00 (VIP) to meet the expenditure needs of various agencies and projects. The redeployment process aligns with the guidelines set forth by the Financial Management Act.
