The Bua football team has taken a significant step toward promotion to the Digicel Premier League next year. In a thrilling playoff match held at Subrail Park in Labasa, Bua narrowly defeated Tavua 1-0.
This victory places Bua in a strong position, as they now require only a draw in the upcoming return match in Viti Levu next week to secure their promotion. Conversely, Tavua must win the next match by at least two goals to advance. The veteran players Malakai Tiwa and Josaia Ratu will be crucial for Tavua as they prepare for the challenge. The return leg is set to take place at Garvey Park in Tavua next week.
