BSP Unveils New Leadership for Pacific Growth

The Bank South Pacific Financial Group (BSP) has appointed Paul Black as the new general manager for its Pacific market operations. With over 35 years of experience in retail and corporate banking, Mr. Black brings a wealth of knowledge to the role.

Before joining BSP Group in 2011, he worked for more than 22 years at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, where he held several senior leadership positions. Since 2015, he has served as the deputy general manager of corporate banking and has also been involved in supporting Pacific markets, leading teams in Vanuatu and the Cook Islands.

Mr. Black possesses specialized skills in corporate lending, credit risk mitigation, and negotiation, and is recognized as a strong leader. Additionally, he is a member of FINSA and is currently pursuing his MBA with the Australian Institute of Business.

BSP Group CEO Mark Robinson commented on the appointment, noting that Mr. Black is an experienced leader who is well-acquainted with the South Pacific region in which the bank operates. His appointment is part of a series of executive leadership changes announced on Wednesday via the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) and the Port Moresby Exchange (PNGX), aimed at enhancing the bank’s modernization and growth initiatives.
